Looking for Cartoons Your Toddler Can
Watch?
Watching movies and TV is definitely not the top choice of activities in our house, but my sanity often depends on a little quiet mommy time while my baby girl watches a few of her favorites. If you are looking for decent cartoons your toddler can watch (will be interested in AND are somewhat educational) these are the ones we watch on the reg:

- Tumble Leaf
(through Amazon Prime Membership) This adorable animation features two foxes, Fig and Maple, as your main characters. The show always begins with an object you are going to learn about for that show. The characters logically figure out how (and how not) to use that item. There are a bunch of adorable little friends and sidekicks in their community that partake in all the adventures. Each show is about 15 minutes, the sounds and voices are calming and cute, and they literally solve each mystery through rhyme and reason.

Word World
(from PBS Kids-you can watch on regular TV or go to their website to watch these episodes) This show is extremely clever and absolutely adorable! Your child will learn a lot by watching this one. All the living things and items in the cartoon are literally made out of the letters that spell whatever it is. This is our favorite!
(from PBS Kids-you can also watch this show on regular TV channel 9) supports & teaches emotional intelligence. If you want books to teach your children in this subject, check out: www.barefootbooks.com/sarah-kuhlmann)
(Netflix)- incredibly adorable cartoon with not many words, my daughter laughs SO hard every single time.
(Netflix) A sweet story that teaches about empathy, compassion, and loyalty. Must see for everyone:)
(Netflix) This one is so enjoyable for adults to watch:) The humor is fantastic and the trolls always look at the positive, so this is a great way to train your little one to see the glass half full from a super young age. And make it fun.
(Netflix) this one is educational and has a ton of cameos so it can be funny and entertaining for adults as well.
(Netflix) This cartoon is for older children too, and I am not even sure how much my toddler is actually understanding, BUT she loves this cartoon and learns a lot from it. She just might pick up on much smaller details than the whole picture of the lesson like an older child might learn.

Go Diego Go/Dora The Explorer
(Amazon Prime Video) I have these two together because the two characters are related (cousins I think?) and they both will help your child with verb and noun recognition and teach them some Spanish. The voices will get annoying for the parents after a little while, but the shows are very educational. If you have Amazon Prime you can get a Noggin subscription that will give you unlimited access to preschool shows and educational kids videos for $7.99/month.
(Amazon Prime Video) This cartoon will teach your little one things like learning that you choose how to see your world, how to peacefully find solutions to problems, and loves to surf/skateboard with his brother. Very cute.

Little Baby Bum
(Youtube) These are normal childrens songs, but they will switch some of the characters around for each song and use cutesy little characters. (parent warning: the voices on this one can get a little annoying, but kids love it.)
-
Little Angel
(YouTube) These are normal children’s songs, but they will switch some of the characters around for each song and use cutesy little characters. (parent warning: the voices on this one can get a little annoying, but kids love it.)
-
Super Simple Songs
(YouTube) They perform a lot of well known songs, but also original and educational songs. The voices are wonderful, I STILL don’t get annoyed by any of the songs, so that is a huge plus.

Dave and Ava
(Youtube) These are normal childrens songs, but they will switch some of the characters around for each song and use cutesy little characters. (parent warning: the voices on this one can get a little annoying, but kids love it.)
When my daughter first started getting into watching TV, I was not that happy about it, and had no idea what was popular or worthwhile nowadays. So, I encouraged her to watch all the cartoons I used to watch as a child…until I realized how violent a lot of them actually are! That is when I started doing cartoon research and am always on the lookout for new friendly and educational shows for her to watch. Hope this list helps you find some good ones your little ones can enjoy.
