For all my fellow PicMonkey Users
The Issue:
Hey there! If you are reading this, then you must already have the photo editing service called PicMonkey. I have had it for two years now, LOVE it, but there is this one little lingering and annoying problem with the website. So, here is my solution for how to prevent your PicMonkey screen from freezing up.
If you are only working with PicMonkey and no other tabs are open to other websites, it will not happen.
But, if you have multiple tabs open, you are in the middle of editing a photo, click on a different tab (even if for only TWO FREAKING SECONDS) and then return to PicMonkey as your main screen, the website freezes up and you have to wait. über annoying. BUT, here is my solution on how to avoid your PicMonkey screen from freezing up at all.
The Solution:
What I have found, that works every single time, to avoid this whole situation from happening is to (BEFORE you click on any other tab) press the export button.
Even if you are not ready to export…and the screen will not freeze while you are surfing other websites, finding more stock photos, etc.
Then, when you are ready to work on your PicMonkey stuff again, press cancel and you will return to where you were. Very easy, but you just have to remember to hit export and let it sit there before you click on other sites while PicMonkey is open.
The In-Between Solution:
If it does freeze up on you but you can get your mouse to somewhat move, then try to hit the export button. Or any other special effect button on the left side, and this will shorten the freeze-up length of time. If nothing works, then you can either wait, sometimes it takes up to a few minutes, or just exit the tab and reopen PicMonkey, but you will for sure lose whatever photo you were working on.
To Sum Up:
So, my tip to you for how to avoid your PicMonkey screen from freezing up is remember to press the export key before clicking between website tabs, or trying to press the export key even if it freezes up. Hope this helps.
I feel like every program has its bugs, and this is just one of theirs. I love PicMonkey dearly and won’t be changing anytime soon, I just know I am not the only one with this issue.
There is a new beta testing for a better PicMonkey program that will be out soon, so I haven’t tested out the freeze issue on it yet…I will update as soon as I do.
