Raising readers is a way of being, so it can be extremely simple once you have the right support! Here are the ways I have incorporated resources for reading at the youngest age possible with my family:
Raising a reader has been in the back of my mind since I had my daughter almost two years ago.
As a child some of the fondest memories are of my parents reading me stories or I read to them before bedtime. Since that was such a magical and memorable part of my early life, I knew without a doubt that I would do the same for my little girl.
Thinking about a lot of the books we would read is fun to remember, but it has made me truly appreciative of Barefoot Books. This brand of books has beautiful views and respects different cultures from all over the world, and the stories are sweetly laced with supreme values that I want to instill in my daughter.
At the beginning of the year I found a children’s book company called “Barefoot Books”. I have absolutely fallen in love with them, and I feel I need to make as many people aware of what they offer as humanly possible.
Barefoot Books was started by a couple of women that wanted to support stay at home moms by creating a very profitable business that any women could weave into her busy mom life, and make an incredible income doing.
Not only do they sell books, they are almost always doing some type of awesome campaign that helps other children or the environment. The website is a goldmine of inspiring activities that go with each story. Almost every book has an animated sing-a-long video that pairs with it.
The Mindfulness Card Deck has finally been released!!!! Ages 4-104! Teach our children and practice the power of incorporating mindfulness into our everyday lives.
