Ways to Help You Save Money For Vacation:
Saving money can be such a daunting task. It can be especially tough when you have a family and life issues just keep on popping up. Here are my Five Ways To Save For A Vacation.
1.)Trick yourself into saving money all year long by simply putting all your loose change in a jar. You will be surprised at how fast you will save a nice chunk of change. Clean our your couches, cars, laundry room so you can corral all that coinage into one container. This makes it much more gratifying and motivating.
2.) Find another jar to use (or an empty soda liter). Place it next to your change jar, but ONLY put $1 bills in this one. Soon, you will be in the habit of walking in the door and emptying your purse, wallet, or pockets of change and dollar bills into these two containers. I like the old soda bottles because you can’t get your hands in there to take any out.
3.) Sell old clothes on Poshmark (use code: SERADIANE82 to get your $5 credit right from the git!). You can open an account on your home computer or download the app, but I will tell you the app makes it incredibly simple to list your items. Sell anything used that you want, for the price you want, but it is not going to sell if it isn’t in good shape or is too high of a price. The price can always start higher, then lower the price little by little till someone pays that price. It will make you think twice about all the clothes and shoes in your closet.
This app is great because you can list your clothes and categorize them by size, name brand, and color. If someone buys something from you, they are the most likely to buy from you again because you now know you wear the same size! This is a great one to sell kids clothes on too because of how fast they grow out of them. You can list items one by one, or you can sell bundles.
Add the cash you make from this app into your soda bottle full of cash for a vacation!
4.) Sell any items around the house that you don’t utilize anymore on Mercari or Ebay. You would be surprised what people are buying, and you might have just what someone was searching for. Same process, and I think the app is easier because you can just take a photo with your phone and then immediately upload it. You can price them however you like, and adjust the price accordingly if they don’t sell. Take all the money from these sales and stick them in your vacation jars!
5.) Sign up for the Empower App. It is completely free and helps you with your finances. It can track your spending, tell you how much you have left in your budget to spend, keep track of crypto-currencies, and tell you if you can bargain some bills (I did not even know that was an option!), and track your subscriptions. This app has been SO helpful, I recommend this to everyone I know. If you are trying to be more cash aware, this app will help you reach your goals. Before you know it, you will have a nice amount of money ready for you to use for whatever vacation you choose. The hardest part is getting into the habit of doing all these things, but once you do, you will love yourself for it.
